I don't think they understand the meaning of triage lol
Sounds gay and French.
That's not "triage".
Ok, but what if… he was a Doctor of Musicology? “I DONT HAVE VACCINES FUCK OFF!”
Well at least I never called them Freedom Fries.
Isn't that a threesome for doctors? Or did I just get confused again?
Later that doctor punched a puppy and exploded a bus full of nuns 🤬
I think things that get me about this too is the language - as if a doctor would be yelling “get the fuck out”. Reminds me of a dickhead coworker I have who always claims he’s having these kind of heated arguments (and winning) with cops, rangers, anyone.
This pandemic brought out the most annoying in the biggest virtue signallers, that's for sure.
This pandemic made almost everyone more annoying. And there's no end in sight.
Eh, I wouldn't say this is worse than post-9/11 stuff like "freedom fries". One's a fake story on the internet, the other is businesses actually misunderstanding a situation to such a degree that they think they can and should change what people call a common food item.
What does naming of fast food have to do with what I said?
Post 9/11 virtue signaling was all about making everything "American spirit" this dudes original example of the freedom fries was a shitty virtue signal to show the world that those damn terrorists can't truly destroy our freedom because we have the true freedom fries!! Get a never forget bumper sticker to show the terrorists how you feel!! Buy bracelets, stickers, American flags, buy all the American merch you can to stick it to those terrorists!! Osama will have nothing on you once you buy our "I do not like terrorism very much" t shirt only 9.95!!
They were called freedom fries because we were pissed off at France for opposing the Iraq invasion. The rest of that red white and blue stuff was very much, as you suggest, just super patriotic virtue signaling
> This pandemic brought out the most annoying in the biggest virtue signallers, that's for sure.
I'm saying that's not true, because there was even more annoying, bigger virtue-signaling post-9/11, and I gave an example of what I meant.
Oh sorry I didn't realize you set the benchmark for what's annoying.
Ah, okay. So *you* do, then, to say that *this* is the most. Got it.
I don't see a problem with you expressing one opinion and me disagreeing with another. Neither of us decide in an absolute sense.
Never said I did. What I find bizarre is me saying this pandemic makes virtue signallers annoying and you came swooping in with "well I think this thing that's completely unrelated to the post is more annoying"
Well...that isn't what you said though, you said *the most* annoying, which was the part I was responding to. Otherwise, I would have had no disagreement.
Oh so you just take everything you read literally. Got it.
If that's the direction you want to take though, think you're wrong anyway because getting stings from a swarm of bees is much more annoying than how fast food joints name food items.
That would be a good point if getting stung by bees was a type of virtue signaling, but I don't think it actually is. But hey, maybe to you it is, I can't speak for you.
This went on for 5 min or so and you didn't whipe out your phone to record it? Where do you live? 1995?
Yeeeaaahh no such thing as the hippocratic oath or anything like that.....
Actually, a doctor can refuse to treat someone or ‘fire’ a patient. The only place that has to treat a patient is an ER and all they have to do is triage. If what you have isn’t life threatening and you don’t have insurance, they can refer you somewhere else, transfer you somewhere else, or discharge you. Even if you have insurance, they can do all of that. The only thing an ER *has* to do is make you ‘stable’.
There's really not. It's never been a legal thing, and iirc it's not even considered in a non legal capacity often nowadays.
Is that so! Well TIL
It has *some* truth to it.
I've had people deny the covid swab because they've accused me of faking results or infecting them.
Like man, cmon. Now I've got to write a refusal. You've got covid. You don't believe in it. Wtf do you expect me to do??
And people don’t realize a doctor can refuse to treat a patient. There’s nothing that says they *have* to see you. Same with the hospital if you’re stable, ambulatory, and refuse treatment or doctors’ orders.
Or they ship you to another facility that will take you.
I have ABSOLUTELY seen ER doctors at least yell at people and immediately discharge them. It is balm to my salty medic soul 🙏🙏
I doubt this happened but I'd buy that doctor a drink if it did.
I’d buy the old man one
I'd buy the old man a covid test
I'd buy him a casket.
Good luck finding one. Maybe that was his real goal. Smart old dude.
If you’re not in the US, it’s likely much easier to get them. Over here in Germany, it’s easy to get a test.
I mean, I don’t think that the basic idea is wrong. If you’ve made it this far and you still believe COVID is a hoax and refuse to get vaccinated (and are able medically to do so), you shouldn’t get to take up space. Hospital beds are in short supply, and you made your choice.
Ya that’s not how it works. Do you also think we shouldnt treat alcoholics for liver disease? Smokers for lung issues? You can’t pick and choose who you treat because of politics.
“Doctor wait! Don’t stop the bleeding on that teenager! He did it to himself! Let him die!”
They will treat all the unvaccinated and they will like it.
Oh dang I missed the part where alcoholic-induced cirrhosis and lung diseases caused by smoking are COMMUNICABLE and can be prevented with TEO FUCKING SHOTS instead of entire lifestyle changes.
Bizarre how healthcare workers might be exhausted from people who STILL claim that COVID isn't real, etc, but they expect miracles from us when we're swamped, exhausted, understaffed, etc, and they can't even be bothered to wear some cloth on their face or get two injections that have been tested on like a billion people and proven to be vastly safer than the disease they prevent.
We won't like. Healthcare workers are leaving in droves, myself included. But I like your entitled attitude - makes me feel better when I finally lose my shit and yell at people like you.
You can get angry at me if you want, but until you quit you will keep doing what you swore to do and do as you’re told. No one cares about your politics. I notice you didn’t say anything about my suicidal teen example. I assume you aren’t letting them die either. You’re an unsmart hypocrite and we don’t pay you to judge or talk.
LOL! Yes Daddy, I'll do as I'm told 😂😂
I'm not arguing with you, troll-child (literally his top post on his profile is how much he loves trolling). I'm continuing this discussion for anyone observing it who might be on the fence about things.
I wasn't angry at you. I'm angry at the whole damn thing. And your supposed comparison is not valid at all. They're completely different, PLUS, every healthcare provider will tell you that, yeah, we do get frustrated with people who have chronic issues and refuse to be compliant with their treatments/medications/etc. Just like a healthcare worker might lose their temper with someone who has an implanted defibrillator and they keep smoking crack, or they're being admitted for the 5th time in DKA. We had a diabetic patient we frequently had to treat 2-3x in 24 hours and you can bet your ass we were not being friendly, and we didn't "like" it.
There is no way you're not a minor. The faux condescension just does not work between adults.. But sure, a suicidal teenager - also not contagious, also not possible to fix mental illness with two injections. So.
I do, in fact, get paid to both judge and talk. And lol at the "we" don't pay you. K bye.
I assure you literally no one would ever pay a nurse for their judgement or advice (outside of what your doctor told you to go tell the patient in between your diaper changes). You’re the doctors bitch. Most nurses aren’t even vaccinated is what the rest of the world is told, so let’s not act like you guys are somehow bastions of smartness. You managed to get your GED and finish a 6 month course. Congrats. Let’s calm you down, keep that mouth shut and keep doing what the taxpayer tells you to do.
In the wild here we see the first world privilege man/woman pretending that taking a dosage that many in the third world are seeking for is a privilege that they can themselves reject and pretend doesn't work.
You didnt understand what you read.
You don't understand basic science either and believe you're in a film where the government is testing it's populance.
Once again...you have no idea what youre talking about.
Im not anti vax you bonehead. You however, may be retarded.
Refusing to get the covid vaccine is completely different from alcoholism induced liver disease and smoking induced lung disease. Society tolerates some degree of civic irresponsibility, even if such actions cause some material burden to the public at large. At this current point, with anti-vaxxers flooding the healthcare system, the burden on the healthcare system imposed upon anti-vaxxers is too huge. Thus, making anti-vaxxers lower priority when receiving covid related medical tratment is justified. In contrast, you'll never see alcoholics or smokers overwhelming the healthcare system because of their lifestyle decisions. This exact same logic is also how some societies justify putting persons who refuses to be on the organ donors' list at a lower priority.
Ya you kids have no idea how the real world works. Nothing you said will ever happen. Doctors make a pledge and they will keep it or we will find new doctors.
You guys bring politics into everything. It’s embarrassing like when your kid shouts out that we are out of toilet paper in the middle of the grocery. In time though, you’ll likely change your mind and see it with some better perspective.
I think you are the one with no clue how the world works. Some countries have already taken away government healthcare subsidies for anti-vaxxers for all covid related medical treatment (which is an indirect way of placing them at a lower priority). So yes. It has been done and it can be done. You also haven't explained away my comparison to the organ donors' list.
And it's not like anyone is advocating for anti-vaxxers to be barred from medical treatment. It simply means that they'll get medical treatment if there is capacity for medical treatment. If there is no capacity, tough luck. Find another clinic that has capacity. This is in no violation of any ethical "pledge" or oath that doctors took. There are no ethical standards that requires doctors to see every single patient that approaches them. In fact, that's contrary to the prevailing ethical standards. You seem to have a profound misunderstanding of what ethical standards doctors are put up to.
Lastly, no one is bringing in politics to anything. All I'm saying is if you have made a personal decision not to take a prophylactic medical treatment, and you get severely ill because of it, doctors and clinics should be able to lower your medical priority because you made your decision, now suffer your consequences. How is that political? It's basic common sense and frankly, the only reason why you're saying that this is political is because you think that it is political, and this is probably just one of your routine projection exercise.
For the sake of your family and your friends, I hope you learn to get a better perspective.
Dude stop. It’s so embarrassing. I get it social media is like your outlet or whatever but you gotta stop just saying any old dumb thing.
Alright dude. Considering your last post, you probably get off doing this and I'm not going to respond to you after this. Just know that I'm concerned about you and I hope you find healthier ways of getting gratification.
I appreciate you conceding. Maybe there is hope for some of you. Next time let the adults talk and try to keep your emotional posting off the internet. Maybe your family will want to hear it, but we dont.
Yep. I think anyone choosing not to be vaxxed should be kicked square in the Jimmy.
But nowhere else do we deny care to people bent on destroying themselves with their life choices.
Drugs, obesity, smoking, drinking, STD's, and on and on. Those folks all have access to treatment when they have put themselves in the hospital or clinic with their lifestyle choices
Alcoholics aren’t allowed a liver transplant if they drink AT ALL during the waiting period,
Stupid people refuse treatment all the time. No matter where they are.
And if the old man is bitching about democrats, then this probably is set in America, where people sue doctors for less. I don't think this person has thought their scenario through.
If it really happened, good.
No covid post it's against the rules
Why did you comment that on this post?
You just comment that on anything mentioning Covid even if it doesn’t make sense relating to the actual topic?
For the record I’m not the one downvoting you, I was just curious because it was such a non-sequitur
Well from my perspective (and I’m vaxxed and boosted and I wear masks) it does come off as kinda annoying when it’s totally random so I don’t think it’s going to change anyone’s mind. If anything I think it would annoy someone who is unvaxxed into not wanting to do it more. Just some honest feedback to consider. Perhaps you might want to get better at working it into more relevant conversations as opposed to just randomly plopping it into any random place mentioning Covid.
I have definitely seen a doctors yell at patients in the ER before, but not with the swearing. Could be an embellished real thing 🤷🏼♀️
Human doctor acts on human emotions and gets humanly frustrated.
I'd buy this story for a dollar.
I don't know if it happened but it should have happened.
This was the old man.
I wonder what color the sky is in this guy's world. Do you think it's much like ours?
Clearly you guys have never been to NY. Not the best bedside manners. A chiropractor around the corner from me kicks people out of they talk shit about trump. He tells people to fuck off all the time. I live in a blood red district and the old people love him. It’s weird.
If the old man has grandsons the doctor could get in trouble...
I wish to me this Dr. Lose his shit.
