Gold leaf gilded map. Just wondering if anyone knows the artist? Everything on it is in Latin or something and I can't make out anything. Looks like gold leaf is used throughout most of it but I definitely could be wrong. Beautiful piece.

Ah, the source is a map ca 1700 printed by Adam Friedrich Z├╝rner called the Planisphaerium Terrestre cum utroque Coelesti Hemisphaerio, sive Diversa Orbis Terraquei.

Thank you! Solved-ish as I don't think I'll be able to get a direct answer. I found that the Bombay Company did a replica with the gold foil and all but mine has a canvas border and and gold foil on the sides whereas theirs has a marble print? of sort. Great to know the original though. It's an amazing piece that caught my eye across a thrift store. Grab it for $6.

It's a pretty but recent object: this particular one shows up on [https://bostonraremaps.com/is-antique-map-real/](https://bostonraremaps.com/is-antique-map-real/) I think it's a modern combination of elements from a number of 17th-century printed maps. I love California as an island.

This looks like the one I have! From what I remember, I think it's printed on gold foil and at least one site suggested it was from the 70s or 80s but I don't know for sure.
