the skeleton has millions of tiny holes that used to be blood vains. they used metals and stone to build support structures that they built stuff on. on top of drilling new holes using strong chemicals .(they cant just drill normally the material is too strong) the rest of the wight is held up by glue force from the concerte that not only hangs on the rough surface but it also has roots that leak into the former blood veins so its secure and firmly attached. the area is nearly 200 year's old at the time of the render so the build up was pretty slow which is why most buildings have that classic European look to them. also its a furry world so flying creatures were a huge help building the place. some of the larger blood veins(the size of a cave) have unique minerals that creare liner gravity (used by the monster to carry its blood )as well which pulls water from the lake below and drops it off at random spots at the top which is were they get fresh water for all the vegitation and pretty waterfalls .

yup. i am going for a very vertical level design . on top of the unique zones like this one and another one i am planning which is a completely upside down town built by bats . the city is going to be modeled at 1 to 1 scale which allows for seemless interiors for every single building . which includes a 1 to 1 scale terrain with 1 to 1 scale forests and mountains and a full scale highway and transit system between the main city , a bunch of villages and the second city. its all open world. plus open source. apart from a few copyrighted story elements the entire map is free for anyone when the game is finished . and hopefully the level of detail is so high that you can literally go to the library and pick indevidual books to learn more about the world or generic science. or call a phone number you see on a shop front and actually get answers from the business which serves as a way to preorder stuff. currently working on concept art for the developer group i am in charge of . we are still in pre development phase with crude comcept art.

the reason people bothered to build on a skeleton in the first place is that the city itself is limited to huge protective walls simialr to the anime attack of titans. so there was very little space to begin with and when the original creature was killed in the middle of the old city and took out a huge chunk of the space people decided to just build on the skeleton itself . there is supposed to be detailed elevators and pathways for all the floating buildings but thats for the final environment .

yup thats the goal. make something so pretty and peaceful that people really want to live there. its actually a problem i need to solve with world building cause criminal gangs still need to exist somehow decpite the "happy" world building.

it seems like youre interested in the lore. good sign. the creature did cause a massive disaster with a death count in the millions. how ever the people it had eaten survived. the details are long but in short the creature used to be a magician that "snapped" and his madness turned him into the monster you see. the only way to stop him was to enter his mind and make him stop. they did stop him but not by a cure . they destroyed his mind which killed the creature and with no dark curse to keep it going the flesh it had absorbed slowly turned back into people and the hard bones were left. but the heros that stopped it all died With he monster as their minds had to be destroyed With his . you cant see it in the render but all 9 of them have gold statues on each rib to honor their sacrifice. mental health is now taken very seriously here and any creature that can " snap " can call 0000 on any phone anywhere on earth 24/7 to get high quality therapy for free . even physical therapy is free if you bring your ID card. you can even ask for a specific agent and she /he is legally required to go out of their way to be available. people with snap potential are pretty rare tough so they can afford it.

really nice, I really like the concept and the faded color color scheme. My only note would be on the accent color--the house colors don't really match the color scheme, except for the light blue one which is perfect, maybe it should be slightly desaturated though. I also think the grass and the trees on the platforms have the same problem, maybe a deep dark green for the grass. And for this concept with super long verticals I feel like you kinda have to make the trees autumnal, with leaves that fall all the way down--it would just be so perfect for it. It'd be a bit hard to fit in with the beach aesthetic but worth it imo, or you could go for a snowy beach vibe which would also be nice. Out of curiosity, what's the movement mechanic gonna be for a vertically built game like this?

with the colors i dont like the monotone of only 2 colors. i want something closer to india and south america with highly saturated and colorful environments. this game has Anti modernism and anti minimalism as part of the styling . the grass stuff does look strange i give you that. some if it is intended to be farm land so aside from those i see what i can do. as for movement : firstly this is a single zone out of many so flat areas are pretty common too. you get to play as multiple creature types troughout the campaign and using the specific strengths and abilities of said animals is key to success on top of another major mechanic . the movement style can vary between creature types but i am taking inspiration from 3d platformers and gta games with a teaspoon of titan fall 2. also old school skater games for some vehicles. specific movement abilities like wall running and unlimited sprint or flying are limited to each creature type or have varying strengths per type. for this zone youre expected to use either something that can fly or climb really well. for other types you must use the existing paths and elevators or be creative with the environment . the elevator model is a few posts down in my post history. to balance things each creature has a major weakness that encourages using others . if you can fly for example you get a much smaller inventory and lower health and can't carry heavy weapons and fly at once . if you're a quadroped you can't use 70% of guns or drive most cars. but all the animal superpowers are far stronger as well as higher inventory plus health and plus extra mele stealth and unlimited high speed sprint . i am not making a GTA clone so gunning down NPCs and pure violence is not the answer. in fact the world is highly aware of you and something as simple as a visible assult rifle near city center can give you 5 stars instantly and you can either run or explain yourself. like i said elsewhere the city is 1 to 1 scale and that includes people and their behaviors .

i am self tought with 6 years of experience. mostly messing around and learning the tools . then i try to be creative with my tools. a good example is how i used the brick texture node to procedurally make windows on the buildings lit or unlit with unique patterns per copy. i run a lap top from 2015 with a gtx 960m corei7 6000hq and 15gigs of ram

you DO need a monster PC if you dont properly optemize things. having a mid range pc has tought me alot about keeping performance up . yet i still struggle with certain renders and animations. the other they it took me 4 hours rendering a 30 second clip of my unicorn character walking 3 meters and transforming with nothing else on set ! a high end workstation does help and it helps A TON.

well i have not seen or used one. but big number is big performace and the benfit of optix accelerated rendering is worh it.
